It is excellent as a thickener for making gravies, sauces, soups or stew.
Great for gluten-free baking, as it produces a tender, moist crumb.
To use as a thickener for sauces, soups and gravies, add potato starch at the end of your cooking time. It has a neutral taste (with no aftertaste) and does not have the same chalkiness as corn starch
To thicken gravy, try mixing 1 tablespoon of potato starch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Whisk or stir into 1 cup of hot liquid, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
Gluten Free Gravy
2 cups stock
1 Tbsp. Judee's Gluten Free Potato Starch
2 Tbsp. water
Bring stock to simmer on stove. Mix potato starch with 2 tbsp. cool water to form a slurry and whisk into simmering stock. Simmer, stirring constantly, 2–3 minutes, until mixture has thickened.
